Facebook announces mobile development tools for smartphones

Today Facebook made a number of announcements about the mobile space, including a mobile development platform for multiple types of smartphones, including Android and iOS. The platform provides a single sign-on feature, Location APIs, and Deals. Single sign-on will allow users to sign into mobile apps using their Facebook login information. Facebook is also providing a Locations API for integration with its Places feature. Facebook Deals allows merchants to create and target deals to Facebook users based on their location. One Facebook Deals partner is Gap, which will give away 10,000 pairs of free blue jeans shortly. Other partners include The Alamo Drafthouse Cinema, The North Face, The Palms in Las Vegas, and The Golden State Warriors.
